Am I a LASIK Candidate?

Stable Prescription

Your prescription should be stable for at least 1–2 years before LASIK.

Adequate Corneal Thickness

LASIK requires removing corneal tissue. Thin corneas may require an alternative like PRK or LASEK.

No Active Eye Disease

Conditions like uncontrolled dry eye, keratoconus, or active infection may disqualify you from LASIK.

Age 18+

Most surgeons require patients to be at least 18 years old with a stable prescription before considering LASIK.

Realistic Expectations

LASIK significantly reduces dependence on glasses or contacts but may not eliminate them entirely for all patients.

What happens after LASIK surgery?
Your post-operative care is managed by our optometrists. We'll see you the day after surgery, then at one week, one month, and three months to monitor your healing and ensure your vision is on track. Most patients achieve 20/20 or better vision.
Does insurance cover LASIK?
LASIK is an elective procedure and is generally not covered by vision or medical insurance. However, many patients use FSA or HSA funds, and financing options are often available through the surgical center. We can discuss all your options at your consultation.
